Project One
As part of a graduate-level business strategy course, I participated in the Business Strategy Game (BSG), a comprehensive simulation that involved managing a virtual, multinational footwear company. Over the course of ten fiscal years, I worked collaboratively with my team to make strategic decisions in areas such as production, operations, marketing, corporate social responsibility, and financial management. Each quarter required a thorough analysis of market trends, competitive intelligence, and internal performance metrics to guide decisions that would impact profitability, market share, and shareholder value.
Our team adopted a data-driven approach to maximize returns and long-term growth, with careful attention to cost structures, regional pricing strategies, inventory control, and brand positioning. The simulation allowed me to apply and refine core business competencies, including strategic planning, financial analysis, and cross-functional leadership. By the end of the simulation, our company had achieved strong performance rankings in key metrics such as earnings per share, return on equity, and stock price. This experience deepened my understanding of the interconnected nature of business decisions in a global market and strengthened my ability to think critically and lead under competitive pressure.
